LEM Products Diversity Spend

Diversity Spend

In 1997, under the leadership of President/CEO Maureen O’Connor, LEM became one of the region’s first Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC)-certified businesses (View 2016 Certificate), meaning that purchases from LEM can be counted into first- and second-tier spending to support customers’ diversity spend initiatives.

LEM formally implemented its Diversity Program in 2000, and the program continues to exceed corporate expectations. We ensure our commitment to diversity programs by contracting for products and services with companies that are formally certified by WBENC, SBA and other certifying agencies.

Mrs. O’Connor’s frequent speaking engagements through WBENC also spread her influence, as does her desire to partner with other WBE-certified members, driving many vendors and business partners to upgrade their operations in pursuit of mutually successful business opportunities.

In 2000, LEM also implemented diversity measures to support the annual increase of spending with minority, veteran or women-owned businesses, thereby helping to build their businesses while benefiting our own operations, as well as the larger American manufacturing landscape.

LEM is further committed to a diverse workforce with diverse and women employment exceeding 50% company wide.
